Static Hair Problems!!!
#HairTalk Ladies!
So ever since I started wearing my hair straight...about a week or two ago since I got my weave done over! The left side of my hair has been static like crazy, I haven't had this issue in a while! So this blog will talk about resolving static/clingy hair issues! Lets face it, us weave wearers have enough to worry about, static hair should not be one of them!
Reasons for Hair Static:
-Winter Weather (cold & dry outside)-Its been a cold winter. No moisture in the air can cause your hair to become dry then static.
- Dry Hair- Tends to collect positive electrical charges when combed with a plastic comb. The more you comb, the greater the charges and the worse the problem.
-Wardrobe- Certain fabrics and materials can cause dry/static hair. Fleece & polyester are two examples, certain winter hats also.
How to control/eliminate the static:
(Photos are products that can be used, there are many other types and brands. Just giving you an idea!)
-Good hydrating shampoos & conditioners (deep conditioning also helps)
-Leave in conditioner
-Rub dryer sheet lightly through your hair
-Moisturizing hair oils. Moroccan and Argon oils are good options Especially for Virgin Hair.
-Rubber & metal combs and anti-static brushes
-Frizz control and hairspray
- Humidifier can be an option; it will dry hair and increase the moisture levels; just how it works for the atmosphere
-Ionic Hairdryer; affordable, drys hair fast, & it supposedly neutralizes the electric charge that creates static.
I hope this info helps, I tried the dryer sheet technique and it worked for me! Just like your real hair, you have to maintain and take care of your Virgin Hair! Do research, ask questions, & know what you are buying! Be good to your hair and it will be good to you!

The "high bun/ninja bun" can be worn in different ways! The messy high bun is great for a quick workout, unexpected guest or date! Its effortless and free. Curls will never go out of style! In 2013 there are so many ways to curl your hair, flexi rods, hot curlers, good ole fashion rods & hair rollers, wand curls, traditional curling and flat irons. The great thing about all these options is that they can give your hair a different look, they come in different shapes and sizes! Good weaves should hold curls for at least a week depending on method use. Curls are great for any occasion! All photos below are HTBD Honey's wearing HTBD Virgin Indian & Brazilian hair.

Remi with an I or Remy with an Y

In the Virgin Hair world there is a lot to know before purchasing. There are so many hair types to choose from, textures, origin, color, patter, human, synthetic, the list goes on! This post will focus on the difference in Remi with an I and Remy with an Y. These are important factors when your looking to purchase Virgin Human hair. Remi and Remy hair can make all the difference in your virgin hair experience!
Lets start with REMI hair...
REMI with an I can be considered brand of low quality hair. It is usually available at most beauty supply stores. In general it has been colored (#1, #2, #4 etc) or chemically treated including perming, texturing (Yaki), highlighting etc. It has already been dyed so it will not color well. In my opinion buying REMI hair is a preference, this information is just helpful when buying hair. If you want long lasting, quality, 100% human hair then you want to purchase Virgin REMY cuticle hair.
REMY (cuticle hair) is hair that has been cut off the donors head in the same direction. Remy Hair is considered to be the finest quality of human hair because the cuticles are kept intact and not stripped. This method creates extensions that are completely natural in appearance, soft, and silky. Remy hair is also known to have minimal shedding and tangling.
NON-REMY (non-cuticle hair) this type of hair is collected during the wefting process; for example from the floor of the temple and mixed with different lengths and lusters from different donors. Due to the collection method of the hair, it then undergoes a rigorous process to remove the cuticle, but over time and wear the hair can become dull and brittle. Non-Remy hair cuticles are not aligned in the same direction; this process causes tangling and matting very easily. This type of hair is not recommended for any long-term hair extensions for the obvious reasons of tangling. Non-Remy hair can still be considered virgin hair it just may not last as long.
**Just so you know**
Remy hair is not necessarily VIRGIN hair, since it may be colored or permed. Its defining features are an intact cuticle and the manner in which it was harvested. VIRGIN hair is hair that has not been processed, permed, dyed, colored, bleached, chemically processed in any way. Virgin hair CAN be colored/bleached and is likely to have a few strands of gray or white hair since it is in its natural color and has not been dyed. These are natural characteristics of 100% virgin hair. It usually comes in a color range around #1b to #1 a natural dark brown to black.
HAIR to be Different Virgin hair is high quality Remy Human Hair, all hair has been carefully sorted after collecting from the hair donor to ensure all the cuticles are of the same length. After extensive research, examination, and testing HTBD has sought out the best in 100% Virgin Remy human hair!
***This information counts for all exotic virgin hairs i.e Indian, Brazilian, Chinese, Eurasian, etc.***

Spring Hair Trends of 2013...What to Expect!
From the hair fashion we have seen this year so far, it's safe to say some Hair styles are going to trend for Spring 2013! HTBD has listed a few of our favorites so far, check them out!
Braids/Waterfall Braids/Mixing braid
Braided styles are fun, easy, and versatile! There are many different ways to accessorize your hair with a braid or two! Natural or Weaved up a cute braid can be added for a different look.

Draya of Basketball Wives LA wearing a Sideswept braid. Different braided styles have been one her signature looks this past season!
This sleek one braid look is fresh off the Runway! This look shows how one simple braid can change a hairstyle!
Banging Bobs
Lately a few celebs & high profile people have been spotted wearing sexy cool bangs! Check out who below!
Our First Lady Michelle Obama looked stunning at the 2013 Inauguration! Michelle was all natural showing off her healthy hair and precision cut bang bob!
Beyonce has been rocking a long bang wrap! Shaped to her face and colored to perfection, she also wears the bang bun look, photo above is from her spread in GQ Magazine
Our Scandalous diva Kerry Washington has been spotted on and off camera wearing a flirty bang look. Her fringe bangs and style gives a mod feel but works well!
These bangs styles are a more high fashion & fierce! A dash of color and angled bangs is a good way to spice up your look! The second photo is sharp and to the point! These are great styles for ladies who love to switch up their hair.
Hair Accessories
Last year HTBD did a blog on Spring/Summer Hair Trends 2012 and Head Wraps were featured, well now its about accessorizing! Instead of the usual turban, head bands and head scarfs are being used! This look is quicker and cooler which will be beneficial when this warm weather FINALLY breaks :)!
This fresh off the runway look is featuring Fendi's new head piece! This hair accessory can be worn like shown with a bun or with your hair pulled back or down! Very versatile and can be a day to night look!
I like to call these "mini turbans" you still get that centric look but with less of the "mess." This is also fresh off the runway by Marc Jacobs!
I like to call this the "goddess" look of hair accessories! Picture is Jennifer Behr 2013 collection of hair pieces! This style of hair wear is feminine and a little fancy! You can dress up any outfit and they also go well with beach wear! I will definitely invest in mines for this summer!
A Dash of Color!
Its no secret, coloring your hair will never go out of style! But lately their have been some cute new red heads out and about and some new ways to Ombre' your hair without the traditional blonde!
Purple Ombre is fun and different! Colored properly it can be executed very well giving different dimensions of purple or any color of choice!
Snooki from Jersey Shore & K Michelle of Love & Hip Hop ATL recently went red and they do it oh so well! While both are wearing hair extensions, their hair was colored to perfection and still maintain a healthy look!
Rainbow Hair. Fun and creative only the Bold can pull this off! Check out @rainbowhair on Tumblr for more fun photos!
*Most styles can be achieved with HTBD Virgin hair installed and can also be purchased short as 8" for a short bob! YouTube has great tutorials on how to do different braiding styles. HTBD Virgin hair can also be colored to your liking, but be sure to seek professional assistance!*
