Static Hair Problems!!!

#HairTalk Ladies!

So ever since I started wearing my hair straight...about a week or two ago since I got my weave done over! The left side of my hair has been static like crazy, I haven't had this issue in a while! So this blog will talk about resolving static/clingy hair issues! Lets face it, us weave wearers have enough to worry about, static hair should not be one of them!

Reasons for Hair Static:
-Winter Weather (cold & dry outside)-Its been a cold winter. No moisture in the air can cause your hair to become dry then static.
- Dry Hair- Tends to collect positive electrical charges when combed with a plastic comb. The more you comb, the greater the charges and the worse the problem.
-Wardrobe- Certain fabrics and materials can cause dry/static hair. Fleece & polyester are two examples, certain winter hats also.

How to control/eliminate the static:
(Photos are products that can be used, there are many other types and brands. Just giving you an idea!)

-Good hydrating shampoos & conditioners (deep conditioning also helps)

-Leave in conditioner

-Rub dryer sheet lightly through your hair

-Moisturizing hair oils. Moroccan and Argon oils are good options Especially for Virgin Hair

-Rubber & metal combs and anti-static brushes

-Frizz control and hairspray

- Humidifier can be an option; it will dry hair and increase the moisture levels; just how it works for the atmosphere

-Ionic Hairdryer; affordable, drys hair fast, & it supposedly neutralizes the electric charge that creates static.

I hope this info helps, I tried the dryer sheet technique and it worked for me! Just like your real hair, you have to maintain and take care of your Virgin Hair! Do research, ask questions, & know what you are buying! Be good to your hair and it will be good to you!

7 Different Ways to Style Your Hair When Wearing Extensions!

Monday-Sunday!  7 different ways to style your Hair when wearing extensions! If you love weave like I do and wear your hair weaved up majority of the year this post is just for you! HTBD hair is versatile, manageable, and & long lasting check out 7 ways to wear it!

High Bun
The "high bun/ninja bun" can be worn in different ways! The messy high bun is great for a quick workout, unexpected guest or date! Its effortless and free. Then its the sock bun effect which is usually tight and in tact. Perfect style for an interview, charity event, or any formal event! (weave install will determine the type of bun you can wear)

Curls
Curls will never go out of style! In 2013 there are so many ways to curl your hair, flexi rods, hot curlers, good ole fashion rods & hair rollers, wand curls, traditional curling and flat irons. The great thing about all these options is that they can give your hair a different look, they come in different shapes and sizes! Good weaves should hold curls for at least a week depending on method use. Curls are great for any occasion! All photos below are HTBD Honey's wearing HTBD Virgin Indian & Brazilian hair.

Natural State
No matter what type of virgin hair texture you have, straight, curly, or wavy the natural state is always the go to especially in the time of need---like when your rushing and don't have time to do your hair! LOL! Its the perfect wake up and go style! Both photos below are HTBD Honey's  wearing HTBD Virgin Indian & Brazilian hair in its natural state (wash and air dry).

Braids
Overhand braid, french braid, waterfall braids, fishtail braids are easy to manage, a great DIY, and creative! Another wake up and go hairstyle, braids can also last a few days and once taken out will give your weave/hair and flowy wavy-crimped look!
